"Tanderagee Flour and Corn Mills: The flour and corn mills, situated 150 yards from the end of Mill Street, consist of a large stone building the property of John Creery Esquire, situated in the townland of Tullyhugh. Tanderagee town is built in the townland of Ballymore on the slope of a hill called Tanderagee Hill ."Ballymore: Proprietor Viscount Mandeville, agent Mr. Hunt. The town of Tangeragee is situated in this townland as is also Mandeville Castle and a part of the demesne. There is likewise an old Danish fort in the centre of it. Farms from 4 to 30 acres, rent 16s to 25s, cess 7d ha'penny to 1s half yearly" [cess refers to assessment] Tullyhue [different spelling than earlier in the chapter]: Proprietor Viscount Mandeville. Contains [blank] acres, of which 25 are spent bog or marsh in wedge and 14 of fir plantation along the banks of the Cusher River. The newry Canal passes through the east side along the banks of this river and nearly parallel to it. Farms 3 to 35 acres, rent 20s, cess 2s per acre annually. The south end of Tanderagee is in this townland, which is its market town. There is a fort sutuated in the south end near the Cusher. Madden bridge over the same river in the eastern point and McCreery's flour and corn mill in the southern point wrought by water from the Cusher."
Today the urban area of Tandragee is simply called Tandragee Urban District. The area immediately SW of it (in the direction of Clare), consists of the townlands of Mullantur and Derryallen and the following townlands run from there to the village of Clare, - Drumnaglontagh, Moodoge, Druminure & Clare. South of Clare village are the two townlands of Ballysheil beg & Mavemacullen.
