William JAMIESON was stated to be a Warper on his son's marriage entry in 1854.
Clan Gunn: Associated Names: JAMESON, JAMIESON Son of James. James was a son of George Gunn, Crowner (who was killed towards the end of the 15th century in a battle with the Keiths in which 24 Keith men turned up to fight rather than the prearranged 12) and became chief after George Gunn's death. William Jameson lived in Pollock in 1472 (Glasgow). John Jamezing was given a reprieve for his part in the murder of John, Earl of caithness in 1539. Harberry (Halbury?) Castle, Clyth, was the early clan seat. Killernan was the clan seat after Harberry Castle. The Clan Gunn museum is in the parish church at Latheron. Ulbster & Helmsdale were villages with strong clan associations. The Clan Gunn Society was originally founded in Thurso in 1821.
