Leslie Joseph Coridas enlisted on 5 Feb 1917 at the age of 19 yrs 7 months. His previous occupation was as a farm labourer. He was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 146 lbs, Chest 34/38 inches, sallow complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, Roman Catholic.

He embarked on the Ascanius from Melbourne on 11 May 1917 and arrived at Devonport on 20 July 1917. During his period in England, he was AWOL on several occassions. On 4 Dec 1917 he left Southhampton and arrived at Havre, France on 5 Dec 1917. After he was killed in action on 9 Mar 1918, he was originally buried in the Chateau Rosenburg Military Cemetery but the owners objected to the cemetery, so the bodies were exhumed and he was reburied at Berks Cemetery Extension (Rosenberg Plateau Plots) Ploegsteert, Belgium. He was posthumously awarded the Bristish War Medal in 1921, witnesses W E Coridas and M Schafe.
